FLASH FLOOD WARNING - OVERNIGHT JULY 5TH
(Friday, July 4th @ 4:00PM)
Comal County is under a flash flood warning overnight between the hours of 12:00am-4:00am on July 5th. Dangerous flooding conditions will exist overnight in the Guadalupe river basin above Canyon Lake. Residents should stay away from low lying areas near the Guadalupe River from the County line near Guadalupe River State Park all the way downstream to Canyon Lake. The river will exceed its banks this evening and through tomorrow morning.
Stay away from floodwaters. If you come upon a flowing stream where water is above your ankles, stop, turn around and go another way. Six inches of swiftly moving water can sweep you off of your feet. Turn Around, Don’t Drown. Stay safe, stay alert, and check reliable sources for weather updates throughout the night. Make sure alerts on cell phones are enabled.
