The Alamo Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (AAMPO) has released their public meeting opportunities to discuss the use of $256 million in funding available for the region during the 2027-2030 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) (see attached flyer). The Comal County meeting will be 6/17/25 at 5:30 PM at the New Braunfels Civic Center. However, there is also an online forum for the public to provide comment (Click Here to Participate). This site will allow the public to review projects that have been presented to the AAMPO for consideration and vote for their top projects. One of the projects is proposed improvements to FM 1863 at US 281 (Project No. 43, see below). Demonstrating public support for this project is helpful during the evaluation process of selecting projects to be funded.
IMPORTANT: Project No. 43 on the list proposes construction of through lanes, turn lanes, and pedestrian/cyclist accommodations on FM 1863 between US 281 and Wiley Rd. Rapid development in the City of Bulverde and surrounding portions of unincorporated Comal and Bexar Counties has led to a significant degradation in the level of service provided on this portion of FM 1863. The proposed improvements are urgently needed to restore functionality and protect public safety on this roadway. All area residents should consider voting for and commenting on Project No. 43 at the AAMPO website at the following link: (Click here to vote for and comment on Project No. 43) They should also consider attending the public meeting to show support for the project on 6/17/25 at 5:30 PM at the New Braunfels Civic Center
