The City of Bulverde was recently notified that the developer of the proposed Honey Creek Ranch subdivision is seeking to have the State Legislature create a Municipal Utility District via Special Law to serve the development. The proposed development is slated to contain approximately 2,300 homes located on approximately 582 acres in the ETJ of the City of Bulverde, off SH 46 near the intersection with Blanco Rd. The proposed Special Law bill would circumvent the standard process for the creation Districts laid out in the Texas Water Code, and also nullify the reasonable restrictions that the City placed on the creation of the district in May 2018, restrictions that are specifically authorized under the Water Code. The City Council has directed that its Resolution of Opposition be shared with our local representatives in the State Legislature, and encourages all area residents who have an interest in these matters to do the same.
